Vacancy Summary

Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, ideally with a Professional Membership of Institution of Civil Engineers. The successful applicant will need to have significant experience in Highway Structures Design and Bridge Assessments, be conversant with DMRB Design Standards , computer literate in Structural Software such as Super-Stress and Archie-M, and have the ability to undertake inspections including confined space and working from height.

Responsibilities
- Undertake structural calculations, from feasibility to detailed design stages, pertaining to highway structures in accordance with DMRB, BS5400, Eurocodes, CSS Guidance and other related DTp Bridge Directives and Advice Notes.
- Undertake structural calculations pertaining to highway structures assessments in accordance with the various DTp Bridge Directives - Advice Notes and assessment Standards.
- Undertake structural analysis by both computer based modelling (using the above mentioned structural software) and manual methods.
- Prepare/check “Approval in Principle” Forms in accordance with DTp Bridge Directive BD2 and other relevant DTp Bridge Directives and Advice Notes.
- Undertake structural inspections, including assessment inspections, and subsequent technical report writing with a practical experience of the scoring system and interpretation of the BCI scores and data.
- To provide technical support to Senior Engineers/Project Managers in delivery of projects.
- Provide technical support and assistance to Engineers and Technicians.
- Comply with the company’s QA and Financial systems relating to Project work.

The role is based in Herefordshire, and attracts a salary up to 39,000 plus benefits.
