Job Description :
The scope of the work is predominantly below ground and comprises the construction of the Northern Ticket Hall adjacent to King’s Cross main railway station. It includes construction and fit out of a three-storey concrete box which will provide improved access to the Northern, Piccadilly and Victoria lines via banks of new escalators and Mobility Impaired Person (MIP) lifts. Fitout works include both architectural finishes and the installation of a full range of building services. Previous Rail experience is ESSENTIAL. Your duties will be: Day to day management of chainmen. Dimensional setting out control of the works. Checking of technical data including works information for accuracy and consistency. Identification of technical queries arising from conflicts or inadequacies in the works information. Maintain a daily diary for your areas of the works. Provision of contract quality records and supporting evidence to allow compliance with contract quality procedures. Understand the basic construction methodology sufficiently for you to be able to maintain programme compliance for your area of the works. Provide dimensional control for the implementation of temporary works schemes. Assist in the production of weekly work schedules. Actively participate in the identification and recording of hazards. Seek to improve the achieved levels of health and safety at every opportunity. Undertake material take off’s and assist in the management and control of materials to ensure that the agreed wastage allowances are not exceeded. Ensure that areas of additional work are brought to the attention of the Civils Sub Agent and Section Engineer. Assist in promotion of environmentally friendly work practices and procedures. Assist in the formal briefings for risk assessments and toolbox talks. Act in the best interests of the company in all dealings with, clients, suppliers, supervisors, workforce, public etc. Liaison with sub contractors.
